The Allen & Heath SQ-5+ is a compact, rack-mountable digital mixing desk designed for professional live sound, corporate events, conferences, installations and broadcast applications. It offers 48 inputs to mix, 44 buses, 12 stereo Aux/Group mixes plus LR, 6 mono/linkable matrix mixes and a 96kHz XCVI processing core.
The surface includes 17 motorised 100mm faders, 8 assignable SoftKeys, 6 channel strip layers and a responsive 9” touchscreen with a dark GUI for fast operation in demanding production environments. Each input channel includes processing such as HPF, PEQ, gate and compressor, while mixes include EQ and compression tools for flexible system control.
For effects, the SQ-5+ features 8 RackExtra FX engines and 4 RackUltra FX engines, giving engineers a wide range of built-in processing options without relying on external hardware. The console also supports USB recording and playback, including 32×32 USB B interface operation at 96kHz or 48kHz, plus SQ-Drive recording directly to a USB drive.
Connectivity includes 16 XLR mic/line inputs, 12 XLR outputs, stereo line inputs, talkback input, headphone output, AES3 stereo digital output, a 128×128 SLink port and an I/O expansion slot. This rental version is supplied with SQ Dante 32×32, making it suitable for networked audio workflows, FOH/monitor splits and complex event systems.
